Honda had a mission to raise the spirits of children that had to stay in the hospitals during the holidays.
Instead of receiving a normal, handwritten holiday card, the children were given augmented reality cards that would come to life, along with sound effects, allowing them to have an interactive experience.
Messages from all over the world were received by the children, which enabled them to see how many people were supporting and rooting for their recoveries.
A ripple effect was created when videos of the children receiving the cards went up to over 100k views on Facebook. For each “like”, $1 was donated by Honda, raising $100k to the Children’s Hospital of Orange County, and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
